Our take
Heathrow is a drive from Thorpe Park in Surrey rather than next door, so I would choose the five-star Sofitel London Heathrow for a coaster day tied to a flight, when comfort matters more than proximity. A full-service spa and hot tub help after the rides, three restaurants and two bars cover dining, and parking is free. Guests rate it 8.6 across 7,778 reviews.
Why guests love itFamilies and coaster enthusiasts will find a high-end retreat here, ideal for a pre- or post-park stay, or as a multi-park base with a car. While not directly adjacent to Thorpe Park, its airport proximity makes early flights stress-free. The spa and multiple dining options offer a relaxing end to a day, though those prioritizing direct park access might prefer a closer option.
